Fox News: Idol Style

Fox News Radio and BlogTalkRadio Partner for National Blogging
Competition

By Richard Bellamy — Broadcasting & Cable, 10/3/2008 4:09:00 PM

Starting October 6th, Fox News Radio’s Fox
Across America
will hold a weeklong American Idol-style
competition featuring bloggers from BlogTalkRadio.

BlogTalkRadio is a free, web-based talk radio
platform that allows users to hold live internet radio talk shows that are then
archived as podcasts.

The competition starts with four liberal and
four conservative bloggers.

In each round, two bloggers will compete
one-on-one, with each being given five minutes to respond to the same topic.

Listeners will then vote, either through an
online poll or text message, and the winner will advance to the next
round. Friday, October 10th, the winning liberal will compete against the
winning conservative.

The two winners, along with host Spencer Hughes,
will co-host a weeklong election special live on Fox News Radio at 8 a.m. the
week of October 20th.

“In the four short years since the last
presidential election, bloggers have gone from a mere curiosity to a significant
force in shaping our nation’s political opinions,” said Alan Levy, CEO of
BlogTalkRadio in a statement.

Fox Across America airs on Sirius XM
Radio and FoxNewsRadio.com.

Obama Hounds are afoot

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Lenny sent me this:

Obama Hounds are afoot

After the debate tonight, I went outside to go to Wal-Mart. I noticed our
sign for McCain was gone from the yard. I saw it in front of our neighbors house
in the street. I picked it up and it had been ripped. The sign for the County
Coroner was also tossed in the street. I have them both straightened back out
and the sing taped together. It will be outside in the morning.

While out I went by my neighbors house. Their sign had also been bent and
thrown into the street. I straightened it out and put it back in the yard and
notified them.

Sorry, no pictures, it’s too dark outside and they wouldn’t turn out.

UPDATE - Here is the perspective from one of my children:

Hey guys, You will NEVER guess what just happened.

We think we know who did this, but there isn’t proof that he did so I won’t
say who. All right, here is what happened. We came out for a walk at 5:30pm. We
came back and our signs that said “McCain Palin” were fine. Anna had a lesson
with the Tray ( The community band director) at 6:00pm through 7:00pm. Our signs
were still fine. We watched the debate at 8:00pm. After the debate Anna and my
dad went to go to Walmart and found our signs. They were in the street! One of
them was ripped! My parents called the police. The policeman came and asked some
questions. Now she is sitting at the end of the block to see if they come back.
They ran when they saw the police car coming. Oh what a night! So much for
freedom of speech. My mom wrote on the sign that was ripped. She taped it
together too. This is almost exactly what she wrote… Ripped by Obama followers!
Where is our freedom of speech?… That will get some attention huh? I hope
so.

This from my other child:

Freedom is now becoming a hard thing to find in Lake County. Our “McCain
& Palin” signs were torn and thrown in the street. A neighbors sign was also
thrown in the street. A family on the street from us was having a party and we
are almost positive they did it because of their “Obama” signs. They also yell
when they go by our house,”Obama rocks” or, “McCain stinks(nicer word than
used)”.
